Afghan apricot

Afghan apricot: An apricot is a fruit, or the tree that bears the fruit, of several species in the genus Prunus. Usually, an apricot tree is from the species P. armeniaca, but the species P. brigantina, P. mandshurica, P. mume, P. zhengheensis, and P. sibirica are closely related, have similar fruit, and are also called apricots.
Health Benefit & Nutrition
Apricots are a great source of many antioxidants, including beta carotene and vitamins A, C, and E. What's more, they're high in a group of polyphenol antioxidants called flavonoids, which have been shown to protect against illnesses, including diabetes and heart disease (5, 6, 7).
Traditional Collection
Apricot tree growing is suitable in most western states and regions with plenty of heat and sunshine. As a Mediterranean crop, apricots grow well where spring and summer are warm and plenty of water is available. Apricots are stone fruits, similar to plums, cherries and peaches.
